Something that's experimental is at an early stage, observed, tested out, and subjected to experiments as it's being developed.

Kyle was suggesting treasure would be found BEFORE they got the metal detector that was on back order. The sheep were as giddy as they could be. That was in Dec 2019. We all remember the Q1 2020 hype.
