#65330 RE: plugger #65329

I found that doing a word search for the following Letter to the Editor.

A friend showed me this Letter to the Editor, posted in a Wisconsin county newspaper. This is the kind of inverted, can’t fix spiritually stupid, mindset taking over in America, in the Church. Certainly in the Catholic Church.

Letter to the Editor:

~~~
I have never written a letter to the editor before, but this time I could not be silent.
I am a Catholic and I respect life and the dignity of life in all areas. I believe that a pregnant woman should be given support (financial, psychological, and spiritual) to help make the right decision.
She also needs to be safe and have a place to live. After birth, her child needs nutritious food, access to health care and a decent education. As an adult, he or she needs an opportunity to be trained and employed in a job to make a decent living and to have an affordable place to live in safety and raise a family. A human being needs dignity and value. Being against abortion is only one step in having respect for life.
I cannot in good conscience vote Republican. I find it very difficult to believe that Trump has listened to what God decreed in anything. He is worried about himself and his base. He has taught our children that lying, ridiculing, bullying, and promoting hate are all acceptable. He is trying to convince all Americans that we need only to worry about ourselves and that to show any empathy to the displaced and those suffering is to weaken our country. I want a president who has integrity and empathy for all people, who will lead with honor within the framework of our Constitution and make us proud Americans again.
As a Catholic I will vote for Joe Biden.
I searched using the sentence -
"I am a Catholic and I respect life and the dignity of life in all areas."
I found many references to Catholic ministries that include the words 'respect, life, and dignity'. All that perverted those words. Especially the word 'dignity'. There is no 'dignity' in perverting the image of God into something else. He tells us who he is. He tells us what is good. He tells us what is bad. There are consequences.
I do NOT respect the 'dignity' of life in all areas.
