In March 2020 the RBL stated they were going study Brilacidin's effects on Alpha viruses which include viruses which produce encephalitis as well as other viruses.

Todays preprint article gave an update on the plan to study Brilacidin against some viruses

"Experiments conducted in endemic human coronaviruses are ongoing, with additional testing planned in other lethal coronaviruses (MERS-CoV, SARS-CoV), toward assessing the potential of brilacidin as a broad spectrum inhibitor of coronaviruses. "

Today's PR also mentioned the study of Brilacidin used as an inhaler for Covid-19.

"Additional formulation work is planned for the inhaled delivery of brilacidin for prophylactic use, toward controlling infection in the nasal passage and lungs by leveraging brilacidin’s ability to inhibit SARS-CoV-2 by disrupting viral integrity and impacting viral entry. Such development efforts, if successful, may enable brilacidin to emerge as a particularly effective and differentiated antiviral by preventing and/or decreasing early infectivity due to SARS-CoV-2"

I have been told the FDA requires extensive testing of inhalers. It is good to hear we are going to start studying the inhaler in the RBL soon.

The other viruses you mentioned would all have to be studied separately.

MERS and SARS would require intensive IV treatment due to its much higher mortality rate.

Viruses with a protein/lipid/glycoprotein outer covering or capsid may be studied since Brlacidin's MOA is penetrating the outer viral coats.

The link below outlines viruses with a capsid and the list includes influenza, coronaviruses, adenoviruses {common cold}, herpes viruses, Flavivirus {encephalitis, Dengue,Zika},HPV,Hepatitis BC and D and others

IPIX and Dr DeGrado have stated Brilacidin may be an effective treatment against a number of viruses.
