I've never shorted a stock OTC or otherwise,
but I have never heard that it was illegal!

Shorting a penny stock like VYST may be silly,
but illegal?

Shorting OTC stocks is not illegal. Expensive, difficult and very risky but not illegal. LOL.

And no...one can’t short from a “foreign” account. That is an old wives tail. ANY trade executed on a US Exchange or the OTC has to be done by a US registered broker...which means all Federal Reserve Reg T margin requirements apply.
