True. Academic studies show that trades go wrong about 51.5% of the time. That is, stocks that are bought tend to lag; stocks that are sold tend to outperform. Or "The More You Trade, The More You Lose."
When you look at all the trading going on, it's clear why those who buy and hold do so well. In my case, I hold about 18 blue chips and almost never trade them except to take very rare tax losses.
Of course some investments should have been sold, especially my small amount of ATT.
