If I hadn't been stuck in MVIS for as long as I have, I'd probably take a flyer on it based on the prospect of the buyout and the price it could fetch.

But I'm just looking to get out, as I've got more in this with my 4 buys than I'm comfortable with.

+Decent upward trend in the charts.

+Multiple indications we will have news soon (possibly as soon as Thursday).

+Management on record supporting the idea of a buyout or strategic partnership and actively working toward that goal.

+Market reaching an inflection point where MVIS technology and IP are in the right place at the right time arguably for the first time in their history.

+Automotive LiDAR "A Sample" due early next year.

+STM and the LaSAR alliance relying on MVIS technology to power their vision of the AR future.

At this point depending on which direction they ultimately go, we are 6 months in on the "looking at strategic alternatives" path. If it ends up being a buyout, similar deals typically take around 10 months start to finish (Tokyo Electron buying FSI appeared to start in late January, deal was announced mid-August and complete mid-October for example). If they go the strategic partnership path, that could be announced yet this month and would give a HUGE boost to the company at just the right time.

Buyout will yield at least $12/share (many people believe quite a bit more). Partnership and ongoing operations will take a bit longer, but but could very well put us in the $8-10 range by end of 2021 and 20+ by end of 2023. I'm sure there is a lot going on behind the scenes that is not properly reflected, but those numbers are best estimates based on what we do know and where the markets they operate in are heading. If you can buy in around $2.50 now, those are decent prospects.
