Yes, with real stocks the longterm winners are often boring low volatility div-payers in low tech industries. I have a 20-bagger, for example, in Cintas which rents and cleans work apparel. Only two of my 19 stock investments are high tech, Danaher and Skyworks Solutions which I got as a spinoff from Rockwell Automation 20 years ago. My average holding period is perhaps a decade!

Buffett made his billions in stuff like that. His unmatchable advantage has been his use of free leverage from his many insurance holdings. He shuns fad stocks like MJ, Covid cures or Bitcoins that usually blow to smithereens in bear markets. He also avoids startups or IPOs.

Marcie <<is>> correct that pennyland is all about horserace type fast thrills. I've been mostly in index funds for 35 years. You should have heard the "players" laughing about my style years ago. Nowadays many of them realize they should have gone that route. I'm probably IHUB's most successful investor.

I like to say that I "collect" really atrocious stocks, and that's where GNGR comes in. As a dead-end stock (to watch and not to own), GNGR's a gem!
