No, you should be fine with such things. Don't expect ex US funds to necessarily be correlated with the US markets. Sometimes they are and sometimes they move a direction of their own.

AIM is very robust when using it with funds. There's very little "single stock risk" that way. Sector funds in particular work well. Even if a single stock has a really bad earnings quarter their competition in the same sector is probably benefitting from their duress. So, it's a wash inside the sector fund.

It sounds like you're making good choices.
