Say I have a group of 50 investors and we meet once a week. I go to a company and view non public documents and report all back to my group and we go out and buy or sell a bunch. I disclosed my insider information to the entire group so that should be enough, right.

Wrong. That would be a clear case of a group of people trading on insider info.
