I’ve never met the man, but our family friends in Vero Beach met him twice when he was trying to convince them to “invest” in a sure thing treasure-finding opportunity. These people are savvy, and they thought it was a scam years back. They pointed me to this thread, and I’ve got to say that I’ve enjoyed it. The analysis by you and Hedge is right on. The deception in the videos/news stories on this page are appalling (but somehow very entertaining in a guilty way).
Anyway, I think Gman almost has this whole thing figured out for what it is.
For others, I get why their hope persists. It is the hardest thing in the world to cut bait after years of just aching to believe you made a good investment (and that buried treasure worth billions is right at your fingertips). Even when you know, deep down, that this doesn’t add up, cognitive dissonance and cognitive blindness can be a nasty trap. And that blindness is exactly what KK takes advantage of, and then feeds on like a bottomless bucket of butter slathered king crab legs.
