Not all are unconscious.... Cannula's are used on patients still conscious. And not all Respirator patients are "unconscious" They are given drugs to out them in a induced coma but they can frequently wake like Dr. Adeline Fagan was doing on her respirator for over 40 days until she finally succumbed
