Boston's comment comparing abstinence and contraceptive use to mask wearing is more to the point of where I'm coming from. As a people, we don't like to admit how incredibly selfish and uncaring we can be.
I have friends who believe it's their right not to wear a mask. Well what about my right to not have to breathe in a potential death sentence? Shouldn't that right supersede your right to refuse a mask? Even if masks are ultimately found to be useless, shouldn't the erring be on the side of caution until then?
The same with a baby, potential baby, soul or soulless child's right to exist? Because you forgot, or didn't give a rip about contraception or foregoing a moment of pleasure, should he (it) pay the penalty for your actions?
With Covid as in cancer, I'm 100% convinced that if it's more profitable to milk it, rather than cure it, THAT is what we will see. Things and circumstances often change, but human nature doesn't.
