The last thing Big Pharma wants is a cure. Millions and billions of dollars will be lost to the medical industry if they come up with a cure
So many things wrong with that statement...
1. Cancer is a complex disease. The more that is learned about it, the more complex it becomes. If there is a "cure" to be found for PC, it will be in 1st line patients. Combining checkpoint drugs, immunotherapies, in combination with Chemo drugs. It will not be a 20 yr old treatment concept using a 30 yr old generic chemo drug, in 2nd line patients. Already shown to be ineffective against PC in 2nd line patients.
2. All drugs eventually come off patient. With revenues going down, up to 80% due to generic competition. No large Pharma can survive by relying on past¤t drugs/treatments revenue. They don't fear small-mid caps coming up with new treatments. They buy any that show great promise, and fit their strategic direction. Before other large Pharmas do so, and get to market first. However, there nothing new in the Kenny Wonder Treatment using an ineffective drug 30 yrs old.
3. There is absolutely nothing some large pharma can do to keep a potential competing drug/treatment from not being approved by the FDA. It's a felony to bribe the FDA. No, it's not something that could be hidden.
We'll find out in another 19 days whether or not the Kenny Wonder Treatment stands a chance of having an IND for Phase 1 approved. That is dependent on Kenny being extremely transparent as to why the hold was placed on the Phase 2. Where transparency required from Kenny may be a little fuzzy around the edges when it arrives.
