#9171 RE: moneym8ker #9170

I see nothing wrong in gambling on stocks. I do it. If you want to gamble more power to you.

But, in order to win, the company has to make money (the "long" argument), or you have to have "the greater fool" buying in driving up the share price ($0.30 to $11).

Shareholder class action lawsuits are about protecting the little guy, not so much about recovering lost money. Charging companies for their bad behavior, makes them less likely to do it in the future (monetary public shaming). SEC enforcement seems to ignore small companies.

Fraud is a different matter, I'd hope to see law enforcement step in and round up all suspected parties. Let the courts sort out the guilty from the stupid (or innocent).

I've got both a Samsung TV and Samsung smart DVD player. I only use two apps on the smart player (Amazon Prime Video and Netflix) and I only use them for movies, not TV shows. The controls are too cumbersome, to me, for TV shows (skipping show intros and ending credits).

Most of the content on Kartoon Channel is not owned by GNUS. GNUS is likely doing ad revenue sharing with the content owners, too. Hopefully, GNUS is not also sharing revenue with the app developer. But, my point is, there might not be much ad revenue left for GNUS, if they share too much. Sharing is not caring.

GM and Nikola is much different. Nikola was paying GM (10% of Nikola) for helping develop vehicles and being a GM customer. GM would keep it up until Nikola ran out of money. What's not to like, for GM. GM was working on electric trucks and fuel cell tech anyway.
