One of the major killers was the transfer of elderly patients who had CV to assisted living, 30% of New York death was attributed to co mingling patients with residents who became infected. Washington State also, many of the west coast death's were elderly.
Opening up states and getting rid of lockdowns will save many that have perished due to putting off care. Then, there are the many suicides due to lockdowns.
Nothing is clear cut regarding the number and cause of all deaths. That's why my vote is to open up the economy and stay open like Sweden did.
In the meantime, I wear a mask and do frequent hand washing. If I were to be exposed to someone with covid I'd do a self quarantine.
Hoping your son is doing well and fully healed. Covid seems to linger for some.
