It's not really how long the vaccine works, that's not how it works.

It's how long until the disease,
virus or infection mutates to a new strain and you can be
re-infected again at that time,
which means you need another dose that has also changed with the mutation.

The common flu for instance is 1 year.

Some other viruses/diseases/infections are a few months, some are several years...others never mutate.
