chipguy, your statment should shed a whole new light on the discussion about the 89W Opteron figure that some here argued so vehemently could not possibly be a platform figure, but that it had to be the figure for the fastest CPU at release.

Well one thing we can be reasonably sure of and that is
when Prescott is released Intel will have detailed and
unambiguous power dissipation information for each and
every available speed grade in a comprehensive data sheet
available on its web site from day 1. A practice that
seems to have gone out of fashion at AMD and IBM Micro.
Maybe PD-SOI really stands for Power Draw Specification
