That's a crucial area of concern, punk, and one well worth addressing. One of the easiest ways to determine the potential of a company (and it's management) is by the size of insders shares managemnet owns. If it is nominal, obviously, they have little faith in themselves or their 'product'.
Some people only buy what the insiders buy. I, myself, use insider positions as a VERY considerable determining factor in what I choose to invest in.
