Same with retooling a new prototype pump for the mystery European OEM. You do that for free, with no other companies in the mix? Anyone who does any significant home improvement gets at least 2 bids. Sadly, I thought the leadership had enough experience to see the potential problem of committing to one company.
I can't be too critical of boneheaded management decisions. After all, it was me who was dumb enough to buy Torvec stock and then hold it and hold it, till it actually traded for one cent. That will happen any day now.
