Laetose is made by taking normal sugar and adding insulin-mimetic(from berries). Insulin-mimetic mimics insulin in that it acts as a key to open the cell and take in the sugar. Normally the body would need to produce insulin to do this. Insulin, however, is a hormone and has other functions. Such as telling the body to create a fat cell to store the sugar. Laetose cannot do this, which means part of the sugar does not trigger the need for insulin and therefore less fat is created.
As a type 1 diabetic I'm pretty stoked about this product. IMO, it should replace regular sugar entirely assuming it has the same sweetness and no other side effects.
