Sadly, I'm afraid you're very right. Even if we get a vaccine this year the losses could be in the half million range or more by Spring. It could be reduced if masks were employed by all, and if large gatherings were prohibited, but we have a leader who's doing just the opposite.

I'm hoping by late Spring, early Summer things have returned to some degree of normalcy. The good news, from our standpoint, is that once people have learned to sanitize things, they'll continue to do so even as the threat diminishes.

It's nearly 50 years since my first trip to Japan, even then, people who were not feeling well wore masks and it greatly reduced disease transmission. We all should do it now because you can have Covid-19 and not know it, if you're not tested you might never know it, but you could give it to someone who passed away from it. It's really a nasty disease. I have friends who tested positive by blood test, but never felt sick enough to take the nasal swab, and was told that he's not infectious, but has the antibodies that should protect him from a future infection.

I'm hoping a therapeutic will cut down on deaths, then a vaccine to reduce the infections, but this won't be completely gone for years.
