I agree. Intel has no option to stall. I suspect they will start out with three motions:
(1) summary judgement in their favor
(2) Challenge the patents as invalid
(3) Provide / ask for evidence of infringement

Intels last position on this is the patent is not valid, and they do not infringe it anyway.

This algorithm is publicly available in many free public domain libraries. This creates a very "interesting" situation. It is clearly in the GNU and Scikit libraries. It may be in the Intel DAAL library, which is where Intel would get into trouble. I suspect if it was, it no longer is and users of the DAAL library are now forced to use some other pattern matching algorithm. Note that the DAAL library is provided free of charge to Intel customers.
