The way you phrase it as “lack of candor” with regard to these two issues implies they are not forthcoming with the information. They don’t have the information! They are dependent on other entities to get it! Only when they have the information can they be “candid” with it!
Of course, your whole analysis otherwise is very negative (soft bashing?). I think the REMOVE results will be ok, but not great with regard to significant improvement in mortality. And I believe that the FDA will require a study. You consider this as the “we’re screwed” outcome and I consider it the base case. Anything better than that will be a great surprise to me and anyone who is paying attention. It’s disingenuous to set up the most likely outcomes as a “we’re screwed” scenario. You’re setting yourself (and other readers) up for disappointment.
