Quality of life matters! Impact on national unity matters. We won't have to worry about economic inequality if this goes on much longer. We'll all be in trouble. (As if that was ever anything other than cultural.)
A complete economic collapse is not worth saving the small percentage of lives at stake here. It's just my opinion and I understand that not all will think the same.
But, I'd like the kids to grow up in a place that isn't akin to thunderdome, which our large cities are headed to if police end up defunded on top of economic devastation.
