Often times these small trades are cleanups from trades that could not be fully settled in the time that the trade occurred.

This is where the confusion over the short numbers come into play. So many people think that shorters are going at the stock when it's simply a trade that hasn't fully settled yet. It takes a few days for trades to settle which causes a short of shares that aren't available at that moment. They are always cleared within a few days tho.

Also bear in mind there are rules and regulations in place for OTC stocks that do not have any trades for a specific period of time. If no trades occur over 4 or more days, I believe it raises a flag and puts it into a possible Grey Market condition. At least that's what I read several years ago and have not checked on those rules in a long time.

The OTC is a lot different than any exchanges and should never be compared to a legit stock that is SEC reporting.
