why?

I suggest - set aside some portion of your investable money for speculation

and once it is set aside as speculation you want say 3X as a goal

the rest - invest in an index or managed fund or 15-20 stocks you like

this is not an investment and such thinking - which is good for 10-20 percent per year returns with some luck - are not to be used when trying for 3-5 x returns

so we actually agree -- we just disagree on what portion of your money would one invest in F and F -- and I likely say at this point - just about none as that is for index funds and stock portfolios with great stocks and an effort to double on average every 7 years

this is speculation --- and as such one embraces the uncertainty of the market --- has a personal vision - hope - and one speculates
