Justfacts, I don't think they needed to risk or even try naked shorting, regular shorting was good enough, or they could have simply bought puts. Lots of legal ways to profit if you destroy a stock's basic credibility, as they did. I am not sure what the statute of limitations is, but if IPIX ever has the resources to throw away, a nice suit would be good to do. As would pushing for a criminal action. All this costs dough CTIX did not have, but if IPIX had it, would be nice for some legal payback, though this might imply going after Rosen for misuse of the law (which judges are not fond of). But this is really idle speculation.
