It is incorrect to say that the company management "takes peoples retirements and college funds." Investor, perhaps making unwise investments, particularly highly speculative investments voluntarily give up their retirement and college funds to buy stock for those who are selling stock. Again, the company does not forcibly take the funds, the funds are voluntarily spent by the investor(s).
Perhaps more conservative investments would be in order, in stead of putting retirement and college funds into a high risk investment.
