mc. thx for the updates My layman read ....the norepinephrine added previously has helped stabilize his blood pressure . The Lassix added seems to have helped re his Edema. Theres no reports of Sepsis which is really good . O2 levels between 95%-100% is optimal ( from memory ) so thats good altho fluctuations in oxygenation levels are a concern . ECMO is 100% ...I dont think the lower vent readings are that important here. His lungs are severely damaged and they are trying to rest them. Higher vent readings in this setting can actually cause lung damage.
We are all praying he makes it ...but if he doesn't, dont consider it a failure of RLF-100 . It would tell me that RLF-100 needs to be started as soon as a patient is hospitalized and on O2 support ....before needing a vent and well before needing ECMO
Kiwi PS ...JMO . I'm not an MD ...just married to some one that spends their working life wearing PPE , N95 masks and face shields most of the day while treating her dialysis patients ...some of which ( separate unit ) have Covid .
