Exactly, the bottom line is everything. I publish my own trading performance on the top of my site's homepage. It's based only on trades that are signaled by the methods I discuss there though. Otherwise they'd look a lot better since I've made screaming profits through a long held AUD/JPY carry position.
Doing that also helps me to see how to improve my methods. For example I'm showing 6 winning trades and 8 losers. But a look at the complete trading history shows that all 6 winners were short term trades while all 8 losers were long term.
This is what convinced me that Fundamental Analysis is really the way to go for the longer term, but to stick with TA for the intraday methods.
These predictors...if used properly...are a way to give a slight edge. I'll tell you right now there's no magic bullet. These "predictors" are nothing more than another indicator like a stochastics or MACD.
However, there are a few that seem to be much better than others.
