I would say that insurance/hospital lobbyists have worked their majik on the MO legislature to keep the hospitalized Covid-19 body count down. You see, Nobody knows, Nobody tells, and it remains an unknown secret. Corruption in our fascist governments, at its best.

From the personal stories I have Covid presents the same in the 80+ elderly. But it hits them harder psychologically. Alzheimer patients tend to give up as they don’t understand what’s happening.

The oni0nHEAd.. Good Question.. You’re right the elderly SHOULD NOT present with the same symptoms as younger folks.. ie.. Septic patient’s from a Urinary Tract Infection..Pneumonia..usually present with Confusion or Listlessness or decreased Mentation.. However MY elderly patient’s with the Corona Virus..have been thru hell .. Fever ..Chills.. Rigors.. While I’ve had to sit quiet ..biting my lip..TOO SCARED to help..Till they get Critical..!!!

I can give you one personal account.

My 90-Year-Old Mother-in-Law is in a nursing home. COVID has spread thru the home like wildfire with at least 14 deaths.

She tested positive last month. NO SYMPTOMS AT ALL.
Two weeks later, retest positive. STILL NO SYMPTOMS.
Two weeks later, retest negative. NO SYMPTOMS.

This is the strangest disease ever.

Onion,

As a Paramedic the elderly patients with Covid I have seen have mostly been severe, as nursing homes in April and May shipped patients very late.

Difficulty breathing, fever, confusion and tachycardia. Not nearly as much cough and muscle aches.
