I think FujiFilms is "the" chosen CDMO manufacturer, as tapped for $265-Mil. by the Fed's WarpSpeed grant award program under the auspices Texas A&M
FujiFilm has their own Avigan candidate and is partnered with NVAX, TNXP and Greffex on COVID projects, not just federally funded programs. It also has a facility in Denmark, Sweeden. (Ref: I-BIO T/SW)
Fujifilm Dyosynth is a CDMO (Contract Development & Manufacturing Organization), and has a lease/ownership agreement for their College Station facility, so they are basically a subcontractor (to Texas A&M) ((Ref: I-BIO T/SW)
As per IBIO's NIH Grant Application below, IBIO's CDMO manufacturing facility needs upgrades & repairs:
If Ken Dart does indeed own IBIO's College Station facility, it may have gone into deferred maintenance or may be antiquated, as FujiFilms has taken the lead on CDMO processing - hence FujiFilms selection as 'the' Fed's quintessential manufacturer...
And as per (Ref. IBI0-Bagholder 23) below, this may well be the reason why:
