Shares of CureVac B.V. more than doubled in their trading debut Friday after the biopharmaceutical company's initial public offering was priced at the high end of expectations.

CureVac shares were recently trading around $38, up about 138%, after opening at $44.

The Tubingen, Germany, company, which is working on a coronavirus vaccine, sold 13.3 million shares at $16 each, the upper end of the expected range of $14 to $16.
