You do realize that the US is a constitutional republic and not a democracy. This was intentional by our founding fathers to protect minorites from the majority.

"Democracy is the Tyranny of the Majority" - Thomas Jefferson

"I pledge allegience to the flag...and to the republic...."

A lady asked Ben Franklin what type of Govt we had as he came down the steps of constitution hall. He said “A republic – if you can keep it!”

I would rephrase that to say we live in peace with two nations that are:

Germany is a federal republic whose 16 states have their own constitutions, legislatures, and governments, which can pass laws on all matters except those that are the exclusive right of the federal government such as defense, foreign affairs, and finance. Education, local law enforcement, culture, and environmental protection are controlled by the states. The 16 states (Länder) are Schleswig-Holstein, Lower Saxony, Bremen, Hamburg, Mecklenburg–West Pomerania, North Rhine–Westphalia, Saxony–Anhalt, Brandenburg, Berlin Hesse, Thuringia, Saxony Rhineland-Palatinate, Saarland, Baden-Württemberg, and Bavaria.

Japan — Government Type: Constitutional monarchy with a parliamentary government

MOST IMPORTANTLY - We entered WWII in our own self defense. Germany and Japan had invaded many countries. We did not go there to create a form of government.

We invaded Iraq pre-emptively with them presenting no danger to us.
