Yup, that is the main problem. Companies that file to go dark do so knowing that it is a license to lie. They figure no one at the SEC cares anymore...and they are mostly right.

However, the bigger the lies ("billions in mineral reserves"), and the more money involved, it gets the SEC interested. Along with State securities regulators.

BTW, nobody is shorting CGLD. That's silly.
