The terms I copied and pasted are directly from the SEC filing for LBSR, so yes, those terms are specific to LBSR. I highly recommend you open that link and read the terms for yourself. People who invest in companies should read their filings, it might be an eye-opener.

Did you see the penalties for early payment? Not horrible, but it is expensive for a company to pay off a note early, way more expensive than just letting the note go to maturity (but the conversion will happen along the way, which is even worse than prepayment).

As for this: What penalties does LBSR face as the default date comes months from now and how does that dilute current shareholders on the principal, in the here and now?

I posted the conversion price terms for this LBSR note. Did you read them? That's the here and now.

If somehow the lender decides not to convert, and the Maturation date comes, and LBSR does not pay off the loan.....there is an interest penalty, 22% if I recall.
