As I recall, he said the silver is a nuisance, possibly even using up more in cyanide than its value when sold.
Thank you. Exactly what I have said many times....but got dumped on for ignoring the benefits of having silver as a "bonus".
Usually folks understand that copper and especially manganese are seen as metallurgical culprits eating up cyanide at a gold mine. But silver, despite being $22/oz, is also not friendly to the process. Cyanide isn't cheap, not to mention labor, fuel, water, etc.
Even at $50/oz, silver at a quarter oz/ton is still not something you want on your leach pad when you are trying to recover gold.
