With only $1,000 and 200 leverage I think you run a high chance of your account being wiped out in one trade.

I am by no means an expert here but I would think it a good idea to set the leverage much lower. It would suck to lose all your $ in that account b/c of a bad trade, and everyone here makes bad trades from time to time.

I wouldn't open up a mini (200:1) with any less than $4,000 to $5,000 worth of equity. And with that amount, I would probably make $500 entries, which would only take $250 from your usable margin, plus whatever pip spread you're paying.
