IMO no one in this federal government is a spending conservative anymore. They hardly even talk about it now, it's an after thought. It's just spend and spend with no consequence. Trump hasn't proven to me that he's any different and you definitely can't say he's anywhere close to cutting any spending from what his administration has spent to date, in fact, just the opposite.
Bottomline is they can't cut the spending without bringing a lot of pain into the economy and no politician can do that if they want to be reelected. All politicians know that. That's why they should have instituted term limits in government a long time ago. No politician should be able to hold office for more than 8 years IMO. That's one of the biggest reasons for all this corruption in our government....politicians in office for 30-40 years. That breeds corruption.
I agree with your premise about if Trump gets reelected that he might attempt to institute some major changes in government, but to this point I don't think he's going to be reelected, so he may not get his chance.
Time will tell on that, but it certainly wouldn't be boring to see what happens if he wins and gets another 4 years.
