These facts point to another downside of "letting the virus go" to eventually get herd immunity, if that is even a viable course. Spreading the virus will continue to push medical costs in the US, already twice what they are in other advanced nations, further through the roof. And we have to keep in mind that all of the otherwise untreated conditions that have been crowded out by corona cases, mostly will eventually get treated, often at a more advanced, and costly state. This can't do much good for economic recovery.
