agree it's bad either way, and the hospitalizations are the earliest indicator of if the suffering is on the increase, and of potential escalation if the hospital gets overwhelmed.

Some of the recent reports are alarming. I haven't found a good resource to compare hospitalizations -- the CDC page seemed to only have a subset of hospitals last I checked. Have you seen one?

I'm not as comfortable relying on some of the news reports of specific counties, because afaik for every county that has a hospital that is showing increases, there could be 3 that are showing decreases. I prefer more comprehensive numbers showing daily admissions. Having said that, California concerns look valid -- as their hospitalization increase is based on 19 counties they are monitoring.
