Isn't the number of deaths a bigger concern than the number of ICU or hospitalizations?
I understand 'flattening the curve' and the very valid fear of overwhelming the healthcare system, so we don't want to do that either because that results in New York -- ie much more suffering and many more deaths than needed to be.
All are concerns but I see the deaths as the clearest indicator of how bad things are, with ICU as a fairly close second.
