Purchases and sales reported on a FORM 4 are recorded with a "P" and an "S" respectively for non-derivative securities.

Under the section referring to derivative securities an "A" or a "D" is used. All of the transactions referred to by zerosnoop were in the derivative securities section.

The codes are the same for Non-Derivative and Derivative securities in Tables I. and II. respectively.

The only difference is that in Table I. the transaction code is in Column 3 and in Table II it is column 4.

Perhaps this is what is leading to the confusion.

But the Form 4 and its instructions are pretty clear on this.
