The US breaks its national record for the highest number of new COVID-19 cases in a single day
The United States reached its highest daily total of new cases on Wednesday, with over 36,000 positive cases recorded. Hospitalizations for the novel coronavirus have peaked in Arizona, while California, Florida and Oklahoma have all set individual new case records. The previous nationwide record for new daily COVID-19 cases in the US was set on April 25, with 34,203 cases.
