I’m saying that even for non randomized data there’s nothing in here to indicate much of a signal. Every patient requiring oxygen is categorized as “severe” so you have to read beyond the headline. Most patients with milder “severe” disease are going to get better w routine care and I’m guessing hospitals these days can readily boast that over 90 percent of their severe covid patients who are not yet on a vent, especially among those who have modest oxygen needs on admission will do well. Digging a bit It just so happens that when I looked at the remdesivir trial the median number of days to symptom resolution for patients on placebo who had mild to moderate “severe” disease (much like this population) was also exactly 5 days.
