What I would argue is there are hundreds of companies around the globe chasing COVID-19.
Algernon professes to be one of a handful @ Phase2b/3 in the clinical trial process with a known safe drug.
If that can't get a grant from somewhere then no one should be eligible for a grant.
It's almost like applying for your first job and getting turned down because you don't have any prior experience.
Better yet. It's like saying a company who took a drug through phase 1 with x number of patients is now eligible for a grant for Phase 2.
However, the Phase 2b/3 company received the approval for a clinical trial, but they're ineligible for money even though they are further along in the process than the company that just completing Phase 1.
I simply cannot buy that argument.
We're not being told the whole story.
That's my opinion and PP's on the cheap are likely a BIG PART of the missing pieces of the story.
With a BS little grant they wouldn't have been able to keep stripping us down to our socks and underwear.
