Rationally, the shares of both preferred series should be higher priced than the common stock. All three have the same voting rights, but the preferreds pay dividends. Neither preferred can be recalled (or whatever you call the forced redemption). But for as long as I've known about it the B series has traded for less than the regular stock. So the lesson is that the market is not rational. Perhaps the company might offer to exchange the B series shares for regular shares. Or maybe they could just buy them back on the open market.
