Just ball-parking it for over the last 15 years...

- Generous NNVC and Theracour salaries and bonuses for Diwan and his wife, paid for by NNVC investors, might be around $22M

- Ignoring everything else, that would leave $78M going towards other Theracour payments, of which Diwan received 30% or $23M.

- That still leaves $55M that presumably didn't go into Diwan's pockets, and went towards "research" at Theracour, or almost $4M/year.

That's about 5X more than the average research budget of an active and productive scientist funded by the NIH: https://www.niaid.nih.gov/grants-contracts/2019-extramural-research-overview


In other words, after correcting for the money that Diwan pocketed, NNVC could still have paid for 5 full-time competent labs to do work for the same cost as having a bunch of amateurs at Theracour being managed by Diwan accomplish nothing.
