I want to thank the management for running the contest. And all the participants too! I learned several things that perhaps I should share with you. Running the risk of doing very poorly it would have been prudent not to have used my real name, but obviously every other contestant knew that.
I used to think that diversification was what you do when you do not know what to do. but my six picks were rather volatile and sometimes they moved in tandem and I had a very good or very bad day, but other times they ran in opposite directions and cancelled each other out. So diversification reduces the risk. And since we really do not KNOW what to do---- and as economists have analyzed the situation accepting a fifty fifty chance of winning or losing is not a fair deal.
Starting with 100k a loss of fifty is not equal to a gain of fifty,
DYSL and CVV were very good but SOTK was a bummer. so i did not KNOW what to do and glad to have been diversified.
