BALLARD has been focusing on Public Transportation, those who aren't as bottom-lined focused and private businesses are.

$5.00 to $13.00 per gallon equivalent for Hydrogen is prohibitive to most businesses as UPS, FedEx and DHL have determined. But for municipal fleets, the taxpayers carry the burden.

For the PLUG model economics to work (Large Distribution Centers) you need a large critical mass of vehicles (forklifts) operating 24/7, where battery charging is too long, and indoor air quality is important. In this application, Fuel Cells have an advantage.

In the open air, small fleets, the Hydrogen model does not work, except with Municipal fleets, and similar applications.
